Rio Vista

Rio Vista, Texas

This custom treehouse was designed to make this magical part of the client's property more accessible and provide a wonderful place for their kids. (Once done, it started looking like the adults might hang out here as much as the kids!) Building the treehouse, with its intricate stairs, bridges, and multiple levels, was reminiscent of our building canopy tours in our early years. While the treehouse was only 120 sf, there are 700 sf of decks, bridges, and stairs! It showcases that Artistree can make whatever you dream, wherever you dream it! Some locations can be a feat to get building supplies, tools, and builders to the site, but we can get where we need to go through a number of novel approaches—even if it means building a temporary zipline to move things in.

The treehouse provides a creative and shaded open-air space for play and creates a safe access pathway from the property's limestone bluff down to the ravine below. We handled all the details of the project execution from design and pre-construction preparation to the delivery of the finished treehouse. The treehouse was designed with a simple, contemporary form that utilizes materials that provide aesthetic value, structural integrity, and a minimal carbon footprint.
